Recreation Aide- PRN

Provide Parks Recreation Department with additional office assistance. Operate Parks Recreation Department facilities during weekdays, weeknights and weekends. Assist with recreation programs and special events. This position is a PRN and will be scheduled on an as needed basis. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Assist with office duties of the Department. Perform scorekeeping/coaching/teaching duties for youth and adult recreation programs on weeknights and weekends. Help with the set-up, implementation, and breakdown of special events. Operate swimming pool concession stand during business hours. Monitor the use of equipment and activities Assist with the safety of equipment users and staff. Maintain the cleanliness of facilities. Welcome customers and answer questions. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Must have some previous work experience Available to work a flexible schedule Any combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position, may be substituted, or evaluated at the discretion of the City.

Knowledge of:

Recreation programs and good safety practices.

Skill in:

Ability to: Monitor recreation program participants and respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation. Respond to simple requests or inquiries from the general public. Complete simple math calculations and make change. Be available to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
