Reach Academy is a summer camp program that offers Fun Activities, Faith-Based Learning and a Friendly Environment to engage today's Youth's dynamic mind. We are seeking Summer Camp Counselors who can engage and lead children and/or youth in various fun-filled activities. The desired individuals must work well with children and/or teens. As a Summer Camp Counselor , your role is multifaceted, and encompassing various responsibilities aimed at ensuring the well-being, safety, and enjoyment of the campers. You will be responsible for supervising and engaging campers in a variety of recreational, educational, and outdoor activities. You will work closely with other counselors and camp staff to create a positive and enriching experience for all campers.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • 1.
  • Supervision and Safety:
  • Supervise campers during all activities, meals, and free time.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
  • Implement and enforce camp rules and safety guidelines.
  • Respond appropriately to any emergencies or incidents that may arise. 2.
  • Activity Planning and Facilitation:
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational activities, games, and crafts.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating special events, outings, and camp-wide activities.
  • Encourage camper participation and engagement in all activities.
  • Adapt activities to accommodate different skill levels and interests. 3.
  • Camper Support and Guidance:
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for campers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Build rapport and establish positive relationships with campers.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to campers as needed.
  • Help campers resolve conflicts and promote teamwork and cooperation. 4.
  • Logistical Support:
  • Assist with daily camp operations, including meal times, cabin clean-up, and bedtime routines.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization in camp facilities and activity areas.
  • Assist in inventory management and equipment maintenance. 5.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members.
  • Collaborate with other counselors and camp staff to coordinate schedules and activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other camp-related events.
  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
  • First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old (age requirements may vary depending on the camp).
  • Background check may be required.
  • Availability to work for the duration of the camp session(s) (typically summer months).
  • Willingness to adhere to camp policies and regulations.
