San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time $40,000 - $44,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Operational management Non-profit experience Working with youth Full Job Description The Sports Manager is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and managing all facility rentals across Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio gymnasiums, fields, and recreation spaces. This role ensures that facilities are used effectively, safely, and in alignment with organizational policies. In addition, the Sports Manager provides direct support to the Director of Sports & Nutrition in delivering high-quality sports, fitness, and wellness programming for youth ages 6-18. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and youth-centered professional who can balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on program support.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external facility rental inquiries. Schedule, track, and monitor facility usage across all Club locations to ensure efficient and equitable allocation of space. Maintain a detailed facility rental calendar and generate usage reports for leadership. Ensure rental agreements, insurance documentation, and payments are properly collected and recorded. Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to ensure readiness, including cleanliness, equipment availability, and safety compliance. Coordinate with Branch Directors, custodial teams, and operations staff to support smooth facility access and turnover between rentals and Club programming. Assist the Director of Sports & Nutrition in delivering sports leagues, clinics, camps, and fitness programs. Support program setup, equipment distribution, scorekeeping, coaching assistance, and event logistics. Help deliver youth sports activities aligned with BGCA best practices and healthy lifestyle standards. Serve as on-site support during major events, tournaments, or weekend sports activities as needed. Promote a positive, inclusive environment where all youth feel safe, supported, and motivated to participate. Model and reinforce good sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership behaviors. Maintain accurate program attendance, equipment inventory, and rental documentation. Assist with monitoring budgets related to equipment, supplies, and sports program materials. Support grant reporting, data collection, and outcome tracking as requested by the Director of Sports & Nutrition Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent education and relevant work experience. Previous experience as a Director/Manager or similar position required with a minimum of (2) years of work experience in youth-serving non-profit agency operations management and supervision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Strong leadership skills, including diplomacy, honesty, initiative, judgment, objectivity, and the ability to establish trust. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting information and ideas to youth development staff and leaders, executive leadership, and industry representatives. Strong business, financial management, and organizational management skills. Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to programs with limited supervision. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
