What You Will Be Doing:
Our professionals are the most important resource in our service commitment to our customers. We nurture a progressive environment where challenging, empowered, and purposeful work is celebrated. Our Community Services Programs Division is currently seeking to fill two Recreation Specialist positions, with positions expected to start in June 2026! Schedules for the summer and fall programs are included below. The Recreation Specialist, Nature Programs , serves as the on-site supervisor for youth nature programs at Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve, including Cross Timbers Nature Club and Cross Timbers Nature Camp. The employee oversees participant safety, leads outdoor educational and recreational activities, and facilitates engaging experiences, including hiking, wildlife observation, environmental investigations, arts and crafts, and hands-on experiments. The Recreation Specialist also communicates with parents, supports program logistics, and ensures a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for all participants. Se eking individuals with the following availability: Monday
  • Friday 7 AM
  • 12 PM over the summer (ends August 7th) Post-summer schedule is Tuesday
  • Friday, 8 AM

The Recreation Specialist, Adaptive Recreation serves as the on-site supervisor for adaptive recreation programs designed for teens and adults with physical and developmental disabilities. The employee facilitates inclusive recreational and leisure activities that promote community engagement, social interaction, personal growth, and active lifestyles for participants of all abilities. This role monitors participant safety and well-being, and fosters a supportive environment where participants can successfully engage in adapted and integrated recreation experiences. The Recreation Specialist also works closely with participants, families, and staff to ensure program expectations are met and that each individual has a positive and meaningful recreational experience. Se eking individuals with the following availability: Tuesday & Thursday 5 PM
  • 8:30 PM, with daytime hours available over the summer (June 22-26, July 6-10, and August 3-7) Post-summer schedule is 5 PM

What You Bring To Us:
A High School Diploma. Up to two (2) years of relevant supervisory, fitness, child care, and people management experience. Supervisory experience is highly preferred. Ability to remain flexible with your schedule.
