Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (Every other weekend as needed) Position Summary Vinson Hall (VH), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community in McLean, VA, is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Assistant to support our Memory Care and Assisted Living programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with older adults, brings creativity and energy to their work, and is passionate about planning and leading engaging, meaningful activities that enhance residents' quality of life. The Activities Assistant will help foster social connection, emotional well-being, and a strong sense of community through thoughtfully designed programs and daily interactions. Previous dementia training and experience required. Experience in a geriatric activity setting or nursing home preferred. Certification as an Activities Professional (per state and federal regulations) preferred. Strong desire to work with older adults and contribute as a collaborative team member. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Primary Responsibilities Assist in the development and implementation of activity programs tailored to residents' interests. Lead or support group and one-on-one activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Accurately document residents' participation and progress toward individualized goals. Communicate with residents, families, and staff regarding scheduled activities and special events. Ready to Make a Difference?
