SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the daily supervision and management of a primary care group of up to 10 children, 4 years of age. Plans, implements, and supervises the class's daily program according to the philosophy of LeafSpring School. Incorporates principles of age-appropriate growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice in daily lesson plans. Must complete the Virginia Preservice Training (10-hr training) prior to the start of orientation if hired.

THE CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING

Must possess a love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A positive attitude and work ethic - must be a team player!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

6+ months of programmatic experience , working in a licensed and/or accredited child care facility required. High School Diploma required. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or another child-related field. (assistance available for those who want to further their degree!) Does not have scheduling restrictions between the hours of 6:45 am-6:15 pm We will train you and give you valuable industry experience. Daycare, nanny, summer camp, babysitting, Montessori, and Reggio-Emilio experience welcome!
