June 22nd-25th, July 6th-9th, July 13th-16th, July 20th-23rd
Orientation Dates:
TBD (Separate orientations with ASCV and YMCA)
Requirement:
Employment is contingent upon passing a background check Position Summary The Autism Society of Central Virginia is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Summer Camp Counselors to support our inclusive summer camp programs for youth in grades K-5. Camp Counselors will play a key role in creating a fun, engaging, and safe environment for campers, while supporting their individual needs and encouraging meaningful participation in all camp activities. Key Responsibilities Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times, maintaining a supportive and structured environment. Lead and assist with the implementation of interactive, age-appropriate camp activities. Provide positive guidance and behavioral support to campers throughout the day. Assist campers with personal hygiene, toileting, and daily living tasks as needed. Complete required documentation including activity plans, camper reports, and incident/accident forms. Attend and participate in all required staff meetings, training sessions, and camp open house events. Maintain and properly store program supplies and equipment; clean and sanitize materials as needed. Communicate supply or equipment needs to the Program Manager in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned to support a successful camp experience. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience working with youth or individuals with disabilities is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude are essential. Must be able to participate in physical activities and remain on your feet for extended periods. Must pass a background check prior to employment.
