Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by supporting the Director of Strength and Conditioning in the overall administration of the Strength and Conditioning Program. This two (academic) year position includes Room, Board, Tuition, Fees, and a stipend ($5,000). Essential Functions Creates and executes weight training and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of Norwich University students, including Corps of Cadets, civilians, staff, and faculty. Directly oversees the day-to-day implementation of Strength & Conditioning programs for 4-5 teams. Gains valuable experience supervising interns and volunteers to ensure smooth operations within the Strength and Conditioning facility and programs. Assists in implementing the Strength and Conditioning strategic plan to enhance athlete performance. Plays a key role in managing the Class of '84 Fitness Center, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all users. Other Functions Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information. Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner. Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups, or other designated bodies as assigned. Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software. Speaks, reads, and writes in English. Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field is required. At least two years of relevant experience in strength and conditioning coaching, program implementation, and fitness center management. Previous collegiate internship experience is preferred. Currently certified or in the process of attaining a nationally recognized accredited certification such as NSCA - CSCS or CSCCa - SCCC. Strong work ethic, passion for training college athletes, and proficiency in Olympic lifting and facility management. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook) is required. Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, manipulate related equipment, lift 50 pounds, and travel outdoors to various parts of the campus. Frequent evening and weekend hours. Travel as needed. Environmental Conditions Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and frequent computer use at a workstation. High exposure to noise, dust, fumes, or temperature changes.Additional Information:
