Duties Help Assists in planning, and implementing a comprehensive, aquics program, for active and retired military, authorized civilians, contractors, and dependents multiple facilities. Program includes recreion swim, lap swim, wer safety instruction, aquic events, etc. Protects lives through aggressive prevention, preparedness, educion, emergency medical, and rescue programs. Ensures all applicable rules and regulions pertaining to swimming pools and werfronts are posted and observed. Performs wer rescues and land rescues equal to the standard of training when an emergency is taking place (e.g. drowning, medical or trauma in the wer, etc.). Manages respirory, cardiac and first aid emergencies to include performing cardiopulmonary resuscition (CPR), bag-valve-mask (BVM) resuscition, or automic external defibrillion (AED). Manages the use and maintenance of emergency equipment such as specialized kits and rescue bags, backboards, suction devices, splints, stretchers, and monitoring equipment. Develops and oversees emergency medical and rescue training, public educion and other reled educional and functional duties. Teaches various swimming skills and basic diving for all age groups. Prepares merial for classes being taught. Ensures the safety of all prons in the class. Ensures all maintenance work, wer chemical testing, pool vacuuming, and filtrion Serves as the subject mter expert on aquics for the installion.
Supervisory duties:
Plans, schedules, and assigns work, based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities for one or more NF1 Recreion Assistants, NF2 Recreion Assistants, and NF3 Recreion Specialists Establishes performance standards, provides continuous feedback, and conducts annual performance reviews of staff. Interviews and recommends candides for selection for hire, promotion, or reassignment. Monitors and approves or disapproves timekeeping and leave requests. Ensures staff complete all required training and receives proper training to fulfill requirements of their positions. Identifies and provides employee development opportunities. Addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues timely and takes approprie, corrective action(s) as necessary. Program Management and Administrion:
Plans and coordines the details of activities, special events and joint community undertakings within the assigned program(s) to make maximum use of resources, consistent with military mission and with the principles of Morale, Welfare and Recreion (MWR) program development. Assists the Fitness Program Director in periodically upding the departmental stregic plan and reports. Monitors inventories, cost controls, pron counts and maintains reled records and reports. Seeks ways to directly connect departmental plans to current

priorities including recruitment and retention. Coordines program efforts with other Fitness Division team members. Works closely with other MWR departmental personnel in regards to scheduling, supervision, and facility guidelines. Identifies installion and MWR target groups with whom special programs may be cosponsored. Assists in developing and maintaining a comprehensive publicity and marketing plan to include public relion duties (e.g., preparing and distributing flyers, press releases, brochures, etc.). Arranges for equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish scheduled programs and makes recommendions for improvements. Ensures programs, operions, and use of equipment are conducted within all prescribed sanition, and health and safety regulions, standards, and guidelines. Assists in implementing an effective written safety/risk management plan and procedures for emergency care for participants; schedules training/certificion classes in First Aid/CPR training for approprie personnel. Conducts regular safety inspections of the facilities, and reports concerns to the immedie supervisor. Prepares training manuals/merial, opering manuals, and conducts staff meetings and training. Provides clerical support, program registrion, answers telephones, and maintains correspondence with other divisions or agencies; responds to public inquiries about the facility. Assists with reservions, contracts, and access list for various fitness, sports, and aquics facilities. Performs other reled duties as assigned. Qualificions Knowledge th enables the employee to competently and independently carry out aquics, programs through the proper applicion of principles, concepts and techniques of recreion to specific needs of the community to be served. Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON) and CNIC policies and procedures governing the recreional activity certificions. Knowledge of both, NAF, and appropried fund (APF) funding, government procurement procedures, cash handling procedures, fiscal, personnel, merial and cash management. Knowledge of various specialty equipment, both resale and fixed assets to ensure quality merial exists to enhance programs. Knowledge of the roles of the lifeguards during a coordined rescue scene for the safety of the rescuers and the victim. Knowledge of and ability to conduct pool chemical testing and adjust chemical imbalances and document the results. Skill in planning and executing a comprehensive aquics program th includes a variety of aquics activities and/or individual and team sports which meets the needs of the participing community. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing available community resources. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and other opering systems used in the program area. Ability to analyze and prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports reled to work within the Branch. Educion Must have a combinion of two of these elements to sufficiently qualify

  • b) instructor certificion as a lifeguard and wer safety instructor c) least three years of experience in the industry of aquics Incumbent must possess and maintain: CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Emergency Response through the American Red Cross or equivalent
