  • Bellevue Indoor Skate ParkBellevue Skate Park is seeking an enthusiastic, creative individual who enjoys working with youth, teens, and adults in a dynamic skatepark environment.
As a Skate Park Recreation Assistant your responsibilities will include: Assisting with skateboarding instruction for summer skate camps and clinicsProviding excellent customer service to all park visitorsRegistering participants, signing up members, and checking in participantsEnsuring all participants have the correct safety gear before they skateSetting up, selling, and maintaining skateboards and safety equipmentHelping create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for all participantsSupporting other staff members in daily park operations and special eventsThis position reports directly to the Skate Park Community Services Coordinator.
Work Schedule:
Flexible weekly shifts between 2:00 PM
  • 7:00 PM, some Saturdays from 10:00 AM
  • 7:00 PM, and full shifts during school breaks and summer camps, June 24th to August 26th 8:30 AM
  • 4:00 PM weekly except for July 6-10 and August 3-7.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Greet customers, provide information, and deliver excellent customer service to program participants and the publicSet up new skateboards and perform routine skateboard maintenanceTeach and assist with skateboarding-based recreation classes, activities, and day campsProcess program registrations, collect fees, and maintain accurate participant records and required formsLight cleaning duties including mopping the ramps, cleaning equipment and basic clean upUse the Civic Rec system for point-of-sale (POS) transactions and program registrationsMonitor the skate park and enforce all City of Bellevue policies and proceduresHandle park retail responsibilities, including assisting customers with purchasesComplete waivers, incident reports, and accident forms as neededPerform opening and closing procedures at the skate parkAssist with program and event set-up and take-downStaff Task ListProvide hands-on skateboarding instruction to participants of all skill levelsMonitor the skate park to ensure participant safetyUse knowledge of skateboarding, skateboards, hardware, and safety equipment to assist customers with retail and program-related decisionsSign in new and existing members and participantsEnsure all participants have appropriate safety gearDeliver friendly customer service and follow-up with participants and the public
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Physical DemandsMust be able to physically play and demonstrate active games and skating movementsIndoor and outdoor recreational environments are subject to noise that varies from low to very high, distractions, seasonal heat and periodic interruptions. Strong stamina and ability to keep up with campers.

Ability to perform work that is strenuous and/or repetitive. Work involves talking, hearing, walking, running, and using hands to manipulate, feel, and operate objects. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Fine motor skills. Near and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Employees may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Employees may be required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Ability to work with large groups of individuals including children, teens, and adults. Assist with program set-up and take-downThe noise level in the work environment is usually very loud
