Job Description

Maple Creek Senior Living, one of Lakewood's premier affordable Assisted Living communities, is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant to drive our 12 passenger van, ( No CDL required, we will train ) contribute significantly to our Activity Program. The individual selected will need to be FUN, CREATIVE, reliable, customer service-minded, and take pride in making our residents smile through the delivery of quality programming in our building. Schedule will be discussed with the Director of Activities.
Responsibilities may include:
Driving residents to appointments and outings Plan, organize, and direct individual and group activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of each resident. Communicate available programs to the residents and encourage participation. Routinely evaluate, assess, develop, and fulfill your departmental program functions as required to carry out the continuing mission of the organization within its guiding principles and core values. Be willing to help on the floor with resident care needs as needed Ability & willingness to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the job.
Qualifications and skills:
Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a High School diploma or equivalent Must be willing to acquire or have HCA/CNA certification from the State of Washington Must have knowledge of nursing care practices, especially in the context of geriatric care; state Boarding Home regulations pertaining to resident care Must have at least two (2) years' experience working in a social or recreation program, preferably in a boarding home or long-term care setting, conducting both individual and group activities Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Dependable, team-player, caring and able to foster atmosphere of dignity and respect Clean background check Requires a positive attitude and high energy level Requires strong communication skills Be detail oriented
