Duties Help Personal Training and Group Exercise:
Provides fitness training and programming to groups of various sizes. Designs, supervises, coaches, and instructs a variety of group exercise programs (e.g., Step, Spin, Wer Aerobics) inside and outside of the various fitness facilities in the assigned workout areas. Assists with fitness and MWR events (competitions, challenges, races). Instructs prons on the proper use of all equipment for training and self-monitored progress by preparing written instructions and procedures for the performance of work, use of equipment, safety and well-being of all involved. Assists prons on the fitness floor by providing training tips in order to prevent unsafe or ineffective exercise techniques. Prepares written instructions and procedures for performance of work, use of equipment, safety, and well-being of all involved. Provides instructions on the proper implemention and maintenance of conditioning and training programs for aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, body composition, and flexibility training . Conducts fitness testing, which includes measuring aerobic capacity, body composition, muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and blood pressure. Stays current with lest fitness programming ideas to increase tendance and improve customer sisfaction. Conducts fitness oriention classes which include providing prons with a tour of the facility, reviewing rules and regulions, and introducing prons to cardiovascular, free-weight, and resistance machines . Establishes/reviews the schedule of events, conducts tours, sets-up/prepares gymnasiums/facilities/playing fields prior to scheduled start time for fitness events . Ensures adherence to regulions and safety procedures.
CFL/FEP/NOFFS/Program:
Provides certified group exercise services to active-duty military as outlined in the Navy's Physical Readiness Program instruction. Assists with the instruction of the Command Fitness Leader course and fitness reled general military training. Works with various command representives to develop and implement physical fitness programs for military personnel. Assists Fitness Director and/or Coordinor with outreach and implemention of Navy Operional Fitness and Fueling Series (NOFFS), Mission Nutrition/ Command Fitness Leader Courses, and other CNIC Headquarters supported/endorsed programs.
Facility/Equipment Maintenance:
Ensures facility and sporting fields are open and/or closed the posted time . Monitors and checks the security of premises . Monitors activity within the facility, circuling among the prons to assist with basic use of equipment/gear and to maintain good order and discipline . Ensures hletic playing surfaces are properly maintained, safe, and ready for play . Assists in properly cleaning and maintaining equipment/facilities, maintains inventory, performs general janitorial services to ensure interior spaces are in a clean, ne, and orderly ste all times (e.g., sweeping and mopping floors; dusting and cleaning workout areas, mirrors, bhrooms, and locker areas; straightening equipment and accessories, etc.) . Makes minor repairs to facilities and equipment when approprie and assists with outdoor maintenance . The two elements below sufficiently qualify an individual to perform their duties as a group fitness instructor : a) a high school diploma or equivalent; and b) a primary certificion from an accredited health/fitness organizion All certificions must be included in the applicion. Additional qualificions necessary for this position: Professional competence in the physical activity program or area. Knowledge of the safe use and operion of fitness equipment, facility operions, and basic fitness equipment maintenance/repair. Skill in planning and carrying out an enhanced program in the recreion specialty area which meets the needs of the participing community. Skill and ability to provide fitness training and programming to individuals and groups of various sizes. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Ability to competently and independently carry out fitness programs through the proper applicion of principles, concepts and techniques of recreion to sisfy specific needs of the community to be served.
