Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team in creating vibrant, engaging, and meaningful experiences for our residents. In this vital role, you will coordinate and facilitate a variety of recreational activities designed to enhance social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a warm, inclusive environment where seniors feel valued, supported, and inspired to live their best lives every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals in assisted living or long-term care settings. Duties Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, games, outings, and special events Collaborate with care staff to integrate therapeutic activities that support residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory care needs Assist residents with daily activities (ADLs), such as mobility, dressing, and personal care during activity sessions Manage activity schedules to ensure a balanced mix of social, cognitive, and physical engagement opportunities Foster social connections among residents by encouraging participation and facilitating group interactions Monitor residents' responses to activities and adjust plans accordingly to maximize enjoyment and safety Maintain accurate records of participation and resident feedback to inform ongoing program improvements Requirements Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care environments Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and aging issues counseling Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents of varying cognitive levels and abilities Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings is highly desirable Ability to assist residents with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) in a respectful and compassionate manner Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities throughout the day Familiarity with home & community care practices and social work principles is a plus Demonstrated enthusiasm for creating engaging programs that promote socialization and mental stimulation Join us as an Activities Assistant and be part of a dedicated team committed to enriching lives through meaningful engagement! Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
