As a Camp Counselor, you will be responsible for supervising and engaging children in various camp activities. Resume must reflect a minimum of 1-year experience in an early learning, elementary, or summer camp setting. Ideal experience will include lesson/activity planning & curriculum development. Ideal candidate will have or be working toward an Early Childhood Education certificate or degree. Position is full-time over the summer with the possibility of continuing in the fall in another role.
Duties:
  • Organize and lead group games, sports, arts and crafts, and other recreational activities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times
  • Assist in planning and implementing daily schedules
  • Provide guidance and support to campers in a positive and encouraging manner
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members
  • Monitor camper behavior and address any issues promptly
Skills:
  • Experience working with children
  • Knowledge of theater or drama activities is a plus
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to handle behavior management effectively
  • Background in special education or early childhood education is a plus
  • First aid certification will need to be obtained upon hire
  • Ability to educate and engage children in various activities
  • Experience in babysitting or childhood development is beneficial Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. This includes being able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
