Recreation Assistant Village of Elm Grove Elm Grove, WI Job Details Temporary | Full-time $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Driving Full Job Description Opportunity The Recreation Department Assistant is responsible for assisting the Recreation Manager in managing, developing and implementing successful recreational programs. This seasonal position runs from May through August and will be 40+ hours/week. In conjunction with general recreational work such as, program and event planning and personnel supervision, approximately 50% of this position will be responsible for aquatic programming and operation of the municipal swimming pool.

Other responsibilities include:

Coordinating summer camp programs, facilitating leagues, and working with the public on a day-to-day basis. Completion of reports, evaluations, and usage reports may be required, along with assisting at special events over the summer. The Recreation Assistant is also responsible for some program management and safety practices. Major Duties & Responsibilities Assists the Recreation Manager in managing and developing the recreation department. Assists with day-to-day Village Park and Municipal Pool operations. Supervises staff and summer program activities. Coordinates summer camp programs. Facilitates adult softball leagues. Works with the public on a day-to-day basis. Supervises assigned daily operations, including scheduling, staffing and programs. Assists in preparation of the recreation materials for programing including support of the online and printed booklet. Assist in any administrative tasks as directed by the Assistant Village Manager. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements The ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in recreation administration/management, business administration or related field or have one or more years of recreation experience, or any combination of education or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Preferred experience as CPR instructor, lifeguard instructor, or the ability to become certified. Valid Driver's License required. Preferred certifications in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Duration The position runs from mid-May through the end of August. The Recreation Intern works 40+ hours/week. Compensation & Benefits 20.00/hour
