OB TITLE

Esports Staff (Work Study Eligible)

PAY RATE

$10.00 per hour

JOB FUNCTION

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Esports program which includes enforcing policies and procedures, overseeing and supervising multiple esports events, and daily communication with student particpants.

HOURS:

Up to 25 hours per week. Flexible work schedules ( morning, afternoon, and night shifts)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Main point of contact and responsible for assisting up to 500 participants per shift.
• Responsible for ensureing program integrity, by supervisng online and inperson esports events.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patrons by having strong communication and interacting with everyone in a respectful, cooperative manner.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude throughout shifts.
• Serve as a resource by providing accurate and current information regarding updates and evnets.
• Assist Assistant Director with facility operations that include equipment set up and tear down, cleaning, and participant reports.
• Report to authority figures such as program assistants, graduate assistants, and professional staff.
• Assist with other duties as assigned (may result in helping other program areas within Campus Recreation).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Currently enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at Sam Houston State University Successfully pass the State of Texas criminal background check Completion of SHSU student employee compliance training and any additional trainings required by the department and university

Able to work on late nights throughout the week Possess a passion for working with people and around sports Be able to work in an active, crowded, and fast-paced environment Must have an increased focus on being punctual, reliable, and dependable Excellent communication skills and the able to work with a wide variety of personalities Open to constructive feedback while also keeping a positive and upbeat attitude Ability to handle conflict as well as confront patrons in a calm and professional manner Access to highspeed internet. Ability to stream video to twitch via streamlabs. Possess knowledge on Discord moderation, and be able to effectively communicate with students.
