$13.65-$17.47 per hour Must be available early morning, afternoons, evenings, and weekends Part-Time, Non-Benefited The Customer Operations Leader is a supervisory position responsible for guiding fellow part-time staff, overseeing front desk and facility operations, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at the Laramie Community Recreation Center. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining exceptional cleaning standards, modeling best practices, and ensuring accountability across shifts. This role operates independently and reports directly to full-time Recreation Supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding customer service in-person and over the phone. Provide supervisory support to part-time staff, including training, direction, and on-shift leadership. Open and close the facility, ensuring all areas are clean, functional, and ready for public use. Personally perform and rigorously inspect daily cleaning tasks, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness spaces, and public areas. Delegate and follow up on cleaning assignments, ensuring all staff meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Coordinate and participate in the setup and teardown for scheduled programs, rentals, and events. Support front desk operations using recreation management software for registrations, payments, reservations, and inquiries. Monitor patron behavior, uphold safety protocols, and enforce facility rules consistently and respectfully. Communicate and document facility concerns, maintenance issues, and customer feedback to supervisors. Minimum Qualifications (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying): Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff, provide clear direction, and hold others accountable. Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Extensive knowledge of facility cleaning methods and experience using light equipment (vacuums, electric mops, etc.). Willingness to regularly complete and supervise deep-cleaning tasks in high-traffic and high-use areas. Strong organizational skills and a dependable, proactive work ethic. Ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Competence in using computers for scheduling, registration, and customer service tasks. Availability during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior supervisory or team lead experience in recreation, hospitality, or facilities. Understanding of risks and safety precautions in recreational environments. Experience working with diverse community groups, including youth, seniors, and special interest populations. Ability to foster positivity and enthusiasm among staff and patrons alike.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, kneel, squat, twist, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs; occasional pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. Ability to remain on feet for extended periods and walk significant distances throughout the shift (up to 20,000 steps/day). Frequent exposure to noise, cleaning products, dust, chemicals, and bodily fluids. Work may include indoor/outdoor environments, confined spaces, and varied physical activity.
