Typical Work Schedule Must be able to work late hours and weekends.
Typical work schedule will likely be a "staggered" schedule. For example, instead of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, you might work 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM to ensure you are present when intramural sports or club practices begin. Some weekends are required for hosting intramural tournaments or outdoor adventure trips.

Job Summary The Campus Recreation Coordinator is a live-in member of the Campus Life and Housing professional staff. The coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and coordination of a holistic campus life program at the college. Duties include organization of educational, developmental, and recreational programs; supervising student staff; developing student programming. On-campus housing is provided.
Supervisory and Management Responsibility:
Position supervises up to 25 student employees. Reports To Director of Campus Life & Housing
Education/Qualifications Education:
Required - bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, Preferred - master's degree in Recreation, Outdoor Leadership, Student Personnel, or closely related field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
Skills:
Must be organized and able to multitask, Must be willing to work in a team environment
Abilities:
Must be an energetic, innovated individual who is self-disciplined, detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of college personnel; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to work with students, both individually and in groups.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Physical requirements:
Must be able to climb stairs, set up equipment and other programming needs and interact with a wide variety of people. Must be able to lead trips in the wilderness.
Residential requirements: Must reside on-campus in provided housing. Experience Experience:
Preferred-one year of experience in operating a college or university outdoor program, developing workshops, and conducting staff training. Experience leading multi-day trips in backcountry settings. Experience in Leave No Trace, indoor and outdoor rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, biking and winter camping is preferred. Required licensures, certifications, or registrations: Valid US driver's license, CPR/BLS or equivalent preferred. Special Instructions to Applicants All NWCCD job postings are contingent on funding. Job Duties These are the job duties for required of the position. Percentage of time 20%
Responsibility/Duty Sports and Recreation
Responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and analysis of short-and long-term goals based on needs assessments and focus groups with students.
Manage all intramural sports and programming.
Coordinate the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of the intramural student staff which includes gym supervisors, fitness center supervisors, and referees.
Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of the intramural programs, including open gym.
Oversight and facilitation of club sports program to include advising students on creating new club sports teams, guidance to create schedules and by-laws of each club sport team.
Manage budget and all aspects of Intramurals operation during evening and weekend hours.
Percentage of time 20%
Responsibility/Duty Venture Outdoors
Provide leadership for outdoor recreation activities.
Identify recreational needs of constituents, develop programs to meet needs, and evaluate programs provided.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate student staff.
Purchase, inventory, and maintain equipment used for rentals and programming.
Schedule, promote, and administer a diverse offering of outdoor trips and clinics including adventure, challenge, and team building programs.
Serve as Advisor to Outdoor Club
Manage gear rental processes, equipment replacement schedule
Percentage of time 20%
Responsibility/Duty Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome (Dome)
Manage the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome operations
Fitness Center
Train and supervise the Fitness Center student employees
Manage the budget
Develop and manage an equipment replacement plan for Fitness Center Equipment
Manage the preventative maintenance contract including scheduling of maintenance
Percentage of time 20%
Responsibility/Duty Residence Life and Housing
Participate in evening and weekend duty coverage on a rotational basis with other designated professional staff.
Interpret and enforce a wide variety of College Policies and Residence Life Handbook and protocol governing student behavior.
Participate in formal and informal disciplinary procedures as necessary, referring situations to supervisor, local authorities, etc. as necessary.
Assist with the opening and closing of the residence halls.
Percentage of time 15%
Responsibility/Duty Administrative Duties
Assist with marketing publications and

page updates and development.
Coordinate a variety of administrative functions (attend department and committee meetings; negotiate contracts for the Venture Outdoors Program, conduct research on program and service usage patterns; maintain historical records of events, etc.)
Develop and manage the budget for the Venture Outdoors program.
Develop and administer creative electronic and traditional marketing strategies to actively engage students in Venture Outdoors programming.
Effectively communicate and foster community and college relationships leading toward maximum use of recreation programs.
Percentage of time 5%
