Job Summary:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager (GM) in overseeing all daily operations of Crow's Nest Cabins. This role assists in leading lodging operations, supervising staff, ensuring quality standards, and upholding compliance with all company and safety regulations. The AGM plays a key leadership role in driving guest satisfaction, maintaining profitability, supporting property maintenance and housekeeping operations, developing employees, and ensuring every guest enjoys an unforgettable Denali stay. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Leadership & Team Development Support the General Manager in leading and mentoring all lodging, housekeeping, front desk, and operations staff to achieve performance goals. Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing team members. Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional work environment. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and legendary hospitality. Guest Experience Ensure guests receive warm, attentive, and consistent service throughout their stay. Anticipate and resolve guest concerns promptly and effectively to maintain high satisfaction scores. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service across all guest-facing areas. Support guest communication, including front desk interactions, check-ins, and special requests. Operational Excellence Oversee daily operations of the property, including front desk efficiency, housekeeping quality, and public-area upkeep. Support the GM in enforcing company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and lodging regulations. Maintain organization and cleanliness across cabins, public spaces, and staff areas. Assist in coordinating property-wide initiatives, seasonal projects, special events, and Denali-area partnerships. Financial & Administrative Support Assist with budgeting, cost control, and achieving profitability targets. Support inventory management, ordering, and coordination with vendors for supplies and services. Help oversee cash handling, reconciliations, and daily reporting. Utilize R365, SpotOn Teamwork, and MS Teams for labor, occupancy, and performance tracking. Support scheduling and labor planning aligned with occupancy forecasts and seasonal trends. Facility & Safety Oversight Assist in maintaining cabins, equipment, and facilities in excellent working condition. Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with safety and risk-management procedures. Help monitor and document staff compliance with company policies, training, and safety programs. Collaboration & Communication Act as a key link between the General Manager, housekeeping leadership, maintenance teams, and corporate management. Participate in management meetings, offering operational insights and updates. Communicate company goals, initiatives, and expectations clearly to all staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum 2 years of management experience in hospitality, lodging, or a related high-volume environment. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, seasonal hospitality setting. Strong understanding of guest service, cost control, housekeeping standards, and lodge operations. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in management software (e.g., R365, SpotOn Teamwork, MS Teams). Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Must possess or obtain Alaska Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:
Experience in multi-unit or lodging-restaurant hybrid operations. Knowledge of business management, HR practices, and basic accounting principles. Familiarity with Denali-area seasonal operations and workforce dynamics.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Active role requiring standing and walking for up to 8 hours per shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move items such as boxes, equipment, and supplies. Exposure to a fast-paced, high-volume seasonal environment. May occasionally require working outdoors in Alaska's variable climate.
