General Manager SUMMARY Discover Deishú is a tribally-owned cultural tourism enterprise in Haines (
Tlingit:
Deishú), Alaska. We seek a hands-on leader to oversee the financial health, administrative functions and daily operations of a small, multi-brand business. This role combines financial oversight with operational leadership across our restaurant, retail and tour companies. This full time position is based in Haines and reports to the Discover Deishu Board of Directors and/or a designated agent of the board.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pay:
$30.00-38.00/Hr. DOE Financial Management & Business Health
  • Monitor cash flow, expenses, and profitability across all brands
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
  • Ensure proper financial controls and approval processes are followed Operations Management
  • Support program managers to ensure smooth, efficient operations and workflow across teams
  • Support operational issues and improve systems and processes to increase efficiency Insurance & Risk Management
  • Manage business insurance policies (liability, property, workers' comp, etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate coverage across all operations (restaurant, retail, tours)
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks and handle claims and maintain documentation Compliance & Administration
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed
  • Maintain business licenses, permits, and filings
  • Oversee health and safety compliance (especially for food service and tours)
  • Oversee department of transportaion number and compliance Systems & Reporting
  • Manage financial and operational systems (POS, accounting, payroll, scheduling)
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across platforms
  • Develop simple dashboards and reporting tools for decision-making
  • Standardize processes across all business units
  • Oversee Information Technology (IT) needs for the enterprise, including website development and back end technology systems SKILLS
  • Demonstrated leadership and aptitude in business finance, operations and compliance
  • Meticulous attention to detail, aptitude for critical thinking and advanced organization and time management skills
  • Commitment to traditional values, regenerative economic development and the pursuit of a triple bottom line (People / Place / Prosperity)
Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
