Job Description

Job Summary:
We are a rapidly growing restaurant looking for Kitchen Managers to enhance our company. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager in supervising Heart of the House restaurant operations. The Kitchen Manager will uphold the company's vision and culture. We're looking for creative, motivated professionals who can lead their stores to success. The Kitchen Manager works in accordance with the Company's goals, established policies and standards in support of the General Manager. Primary duties include shift supervision focused on providing excellent guest service and giving direction to team members ensuring quality product, safety, and health department compliance.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrates ability to safely prepare all prepped and menu items by following company procedures, recipes, menu specifications and completes final plate check to ensure proper presentation.
  • Directs heart of house team members in properly preparing recipes. Validates appropriate menu specifications are followed and productivity standards are met.
  • Assists with managing food costs by properly ordering, receiving, and storing all food products weekly according to specifications and guidelines. Maintains food product inventory levels in accordance with established company guidelines.
  • Completes opening and/or closing duties. Conducts daily checklist and uses appropriate planner on each shift.
  • Knowledge of service standards.
  • Serve Safe Certified.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee opening and closing duties.
  • Provides training and coaching for heart of the house team members.
  • Order supplies, food and ingredients based on rapidly shifting demands and maintain inventory levels and conduct weekly inventory and reporting.
Responsibilities:
  • Communicates professionally and openly with all team members and other managers. Holds pre-shift meetings daily and monitors the work environment to ensure team members are always communicating respectfully.
  • Monitors work environment promoting safety, security, and cleanliness. Follows established company procedures and complies with applicable laws and health department requirements.
  • Hire and train kitchen staff in specific stations, and cross-train as necessary.
  • Builds and maintains an efficient and productive kitchen team through training, retention, coaching and development of both individual and group learning opportunities.
  • Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure there are always enough workers to meet the demands, particularly for the lunch/dinner rushes.
  • Schedule and oversee necessary maintenance and repairs on kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Completes inventories of food, supplies, and smallwares. Verifies appropriate par levels are maintained.
  • Ensures standards for preventive maintenance on equipment and building are followed. Coordinate with General Manager to contact vendors for maintenance/repairs as needed.
  • Promote and further communication between all departments, always seeking to improve procedures.
  • Ensure that our guests always receive the finest products and services that Angry Carb Shack has to offer with a friendly smile that will set us apart as a restaurant and give our guests a reason to come back time after time.
Qualifications:
  • 2- 5 years restaurant experience.
  • Able to delegate tasks and maintain speed of service.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess a solid understanding of operating and management techniques as they apply to the restaurant industry.
  • Serve Safe Food and/or Serve Safe Alcohol Certification is also a plus.
