Retail Café Area Manager Chaumont Bakery | Los Angeles, CA Full-Time | Salaried Chaumont Bakery is seeking a hands-on Retail Café Area Manager to oversee daily operations, team performance, and brand standards across our retail café locations, including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Westwood, and Century City. This role is ideal for a strong multi-unit leader with experience in cafés, bakeries, restaurants, hospitality, or elevated retail environments. The Retail Café Area Manager will partner closely with Store Managers, Leads, HR, Operations, and Distribution Center leadership to ensure each café operates with consistency, professionalism, hospitality, and excellence. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across multiple retail café locations, ensuring each café is properly staffed, guest-ready, clean, organized, and aligned with company standards. Support & Lead with team accountability, service execution, scheduling, communication, training, and operational follow-through. Maintain a high standard of hospitality, product presentation, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience across all retail cafés. Partner with HR on employee relations, onboarding, corrective actions, investigations, attendance concerns, and workplace professionalism. Review schedules, labor needs, call-outs, availability, and coverage gaps to ensure each location is staffed according to business needs. Monitor product quality, par levels, merchandising, inventory awareness, waste control, and communication with the bakery and Distribution Center. Conduct regular café visits to coach teams, identify opportunities, resolve operational issues, and reinforce Chaumont standards. Ensure compliance with company policies, public health requirements, food safety procedures, break requirements, and certification expectations. Qualifications Previous multi-unit leadership experience in café, bakery, restaurant, hospitality, food service, or retail operations required. Strong understanding of guest experience, labor management, team accountability, operational standards, and food safety. Experience leading managers, leads, or multi-location teams preferred. Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle confidential employee matters with professionalism and sound judgment. Bilingual English/Spanish Required. Must be comfortable traveling between Chaumont retail café locations as needed. Schedule & Availability This is a full-time leadership role requiring flexibility based on business needs. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods may be required. Compensation $65,000 - $80,000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications.
