Job Description

The Sanitation Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sanitation across the bakery, facility, and property. This role leads the sanitation department and ensures the Master Sanitation Schedule is executed consistently and effectively so that all equipment, production areas, and the facility meet company standards, GMPs, and food safety requirements. This position requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, high-speed bakery environment and direct management of sanitation personnel. Key Responsibilities Manage all sanitation operations for the bakery, facility, and surrounding property Lead and supervise the sanitation team (approximately two crews of 8 employees each) Ensure strict adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule Ensure all production equipment, machinery, and facility areas are cleaned and sanitized properly Oversee sanitation staffing, scheduling, and daily work assignments Approve timecards and manage labor hours Enforce company policies, GMPs, and sanitation procedures Address performance issues, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed Maintain accountability for sanitation standards across shifts and crews Collaborate with plant leadership to support production and operational needs Qualifications Prior sanitation management experience in a commercial bakery environment strongly preferred Experience in a large, high-speed, automated bakery is highly desirable Food manufacturing sanitation leadership experience required Proven ability to manage teams, schedules, and operational accountability Strong understanding of GMPs and sanitation best practices in food production Leadership Scope Full ownership of the Sanitation Department Direct supervision of sanitation crews Accountability for sanitation execution, compliance, and people management
