Italian Kitchen Glendale Galleria | Glendale, CA Hourly Manager Position | Hands-On Quick Service Restaurant Pay Range Estimated weekly earnings: $1,275 - $1,575 per week Based on a typical 45-50 hour workweek , including overtime where applicable.
Estimated hourly range:
$25 - $30 per hour , depending on experience, qualifications, availability, leadership ability, and hands-on pizza/pasta experience. Pay is hourly and overtime is paid in accordance with applicable California and federal law. About Us L.A. Italian Kitchen is a fast-paced quick service restaurant serving pizza, pasta, and Italian-inspired menu items in high-traffic shopping center environments. We are looking for a strong, hands-on Restaurant Manager for our Glendale Galleria location. This is not a manager position where you stand around and watch others work. This is a working manager role. The right person will lead by example, cook, work the line, interact with guests, train employees, handle service issues, and help keep the restaurant operating at a high level every day. Position Summary We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager with strong pizza and Italian food experience, especially someone who understands pizza dough handling, fermentation, stretching, baking, food quality, speed of service, and team leadership. The manager must be comfortable working in a busy quick service environment where guest service, communication, cleanliness, food safety, and hands-on leadership are all required. The Glendale market is very diverse. Strong communication skills are extremely important. Spanish language ability is a plus, and other language skills may also be helpful, but all applicants will be considered based on experience, qualifications, and ability to perform the job. Key Responsibilities The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for: Leading daily restaurant operations in a hands-on manner Cooking, preparing food, working the pizza/pasta line, and assisting during peak periods Managing pizza dough handling, fermentation, proofing, portioning, stretching, baking, and quality control Supervising employees and setting expectations for service, speed, cleanliness, and professionalism Training and coaching team members on restaurant procedures and guest service standards Ensuring food quality, recipe consistency, portion control, and proper presentation Handling customer concerns professionally and calmly Maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe restaurant Supporting labor control, food cost control, waste reduction, and inventory procedures Handling cash, registers, deposits, and basic shift paperwork as required Enforcing company standards, policies, appearance expectations, and workplace conduct rules Helping improve customer satisfaction, online reviews, and overall store performance Communicating effectively with ownership, supervisors, employees, vendors, and guests Working nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as needed Required Experience Qualified candidates should have: Restaurant management, assistant management, kitchen management, or strong shift leadership experience Quick service, fast casual, pizza, pasta, Italian food, or high-volume restaurant experience Hands-on food preparation experience Pizza dough experience strongly preferred Ability to lead employees while also working side-by-side with the team Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced mall environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, cook, clean, and work actively throughout the shift Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Food Safety Requirements Applicants are not required to already have a food handler card, ServSafe certification, or manager food safety certification at the time of application. However, the selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain any food safety certification, food handler card, or manager certification required by law, the company, or the location. Grooming, Appearance, and Professional Standards We maintain a professional food service environment. Employees and managers are expected to follow company appearance, grooming, food safety, uniform, and hygiene standards. Managers are expected to set the example for the team in professionalism, cleanliness, conduct, communication, and guest service.
