Job Description:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of Flecha Cantina, an elevated Mexican food restaurant, ensuring that every guest experiences exceptional service and high-quality food in an upscale environment. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage staff, uphold quality standards, and drive business performance. The General Manager will collaborate with culinary and service teams to maintain a unique and inviting atmosphere, manage budgets, and develop strategies for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, inspire, and manage all restaurant staff; customarily and regularly direct the work of two (2) or more employees to deliver outstanding hospitality and uphold the restaurant's vision. Monitor daily operations, including food quality, service standards, cleanliness, and safety compliance. Accountable for budgets, inventory, and financial reporting; exercise discretion and independent judgment to maximize profitability, control costs, and create a sustainable business. Develop and implement local store marketing initiatives to attract and retain guests. Foster relationships with suppliers and local partners to ensure access to premium ingredients and resources. Accountable for resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, discipline, and terminate staff, or effectively recommend such actions; maintain a positive and productive work environment in compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Train, develop, and mentor all assistant General Managers, Dept. Managers, shift leads, and other leaders at the location on essential operational information, company platforms, systems, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent operations and compliance across all areas of the business. Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, food handling, liquor licensing, and labor regulations, including California wage and hour laws. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching and corrective action, and create development plans for management and staff. Perform other duties as assigned by ownership or regional management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in hospitality, Business, or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of management experience in a high-quality, elevated restaurant setting, with demonstrated experience managing and directing the work of subordinate employees. Strong understanding of elevated dining concepts and guest expectations. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to lead by example and motivate a diverse team. Proficiency with restaurant management platforms, POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management tools. Valid Food Handler's Certification and California RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift). Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds as needed.
