Full-Service Branded Hotel Position Summary The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day operations of a full-service branded hotel. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, drives financial performance, maintains brand standards, and fosters a positive and productive work environment. The GM serves as the primary representative of the property to ownership, the brand, and the local community. Key Responsibilities 1. Operations Management Oversee all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, and Finance Ensure seamless daily operations and adherence to brand standards Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction and service quality Monitor and respond to guest feedback across all platforms 2. Financial Performance Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans Drive revenue growth through strategic pricing, sales initiatives, and cost control Analyze financial reports (P&L, GOP, RevPAR, ADR, occupancy) and implement corrective actions Ensure compliance with ownership expectations and financial targets 3. Sales & Revenue Strategy Partner with Sales & Marketing to develop and execute revenue strategies Maximize occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and total revenue Build relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and community partners 4. Team Leadership & Culture Recruit, train, and develop department heads and team members Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and service excellence Ensure compliance with California labor laws and company HR policies Lead performance management, coaching, and succession planning 5. Brand & Quality Assurance Ensure full compliance with brand standards, audits, and inspections Implement brand initiatives, programs, and guest experience standards Maintain property appearance, cleanliness, and safety standards 6. Guest Experience Champion a guest-first culture Resolve escalated guest concerns promptly and professionally Monitor service metrics and implement improvements 7. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (including California labor, health, and safety laws) Oversee safety, security, and emergency procedures Maintain proper licenses, permits, and insurance 8. Community & Ownership Relations Act as liaison between ownership, brand representatives, and hotel staff Participate in community events and industry organizations Provide regular reporting and updates to ownership Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred) Minimum 5-10 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including department head roles Prior experience as a General Manager in a full-service or branded property strongly preferred Skills & Competencies Strong financial acumen and analytical skills Proven leadership and team development capabilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Deep understanding of hotel operations and brand standards Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-driven environment Proficiency in hotel management systems (PMS, POS, revenue systems) Working Conditions Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays On-site presence required; may involve extended hours based on business needs Ability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience bonus incentive tied to performance metrics Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match Brand-related travel benefits Equal Employment Opportunity The hotel is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
