Avila Beach Drive San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 Kitchen Manager About Us Avila Valley Barn is a second-generation, family-run farm and kitchen built around community, hard work, and creating memorable experiences. We take pride in what we do and are looking for a Kitchen Manager who leads with that same pride, accountability, and positive energy. Our team is like family, and we're excited to grow our leadership team.
Position Details Schedule:
Full-time, 8-hour shifts 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM Flexibility required, including weekends and peak seasons Position Overview The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, leading the kitchen team, and ensuring all food is prepared consistently, efficiently, and strictly according to Avila Valley Barn recipes and standards. What We're Looking For Strong leadership and team-building skills Positive, hands-on management style Self-driven, dependable, and accountable Ability to multitask, problem solve, and stay organized under pressure Fluent in both English and Spanish (required) Ability to train, coach, and support team members Respectful, team-oriented mindset Passion for food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency Strong commitment to following established recipes and systems exactly (non-negotiable) Requirements Previous kitchen or food service management experience preferred Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation practices Bilingual (English/Spanish) required Ability to manage scheduling and workflow Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand and walk for long periods Reliable transportation Consistent and punctual attendance Key Responsibilities Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth, efficient service Lead, train, and support kitchen staff Delegate tasks and manage workflow effectively Ensure all recipes are followed consistently and accurately Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation Ensure kitchen cleanliness and sanitation at all times Monitor inventory, food rotation, and ordering needs Enforce health and safety standards Assist with hiring, onboarding, and staff development Communicate clearly with ownership and team members Step into any kitchen role as needed (prep, line, dish, etc.) Compensation Starting at $21-$24/hour Increased earning potential during peak seasons (spring, summer, fall) We're looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership, and helps maintain the strong culture and standards of our kitchen

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
