JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Operations Manager works with the Operations Manager to oversee all local operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to customer satisfaction. The position involves supervising Service Coordinators and managing manpower, subcontractors, and the warehouse to meet commitments efficiently and cost-effectively. Key responsibilities include planning and executing daily schedules, conducting job site reviews, and assisting with administrative functions and equipment staging. This role is also pivotal in reinforcing company policies and supporting the Operations Manager in growing the service department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist in planning, implementing, and executing daily schedules and project plans to ensure all customer commitments are met timely, below budget, and to the customer's satisfaction. Review workload and manage manpower effectively to meet customer commitments in a cost-effective and efficient manner, adjusting promptly to changing priorities. Assist with the oversight and management of subcontractors and the warehouse, including job site reviews, workmanship evaluation, punch list completion, purchase orders, equipment staging, and ordering stock parts. Provide direct daily supervision to Service Coordinators, assigning duties, evaluating performance, and training staff for continuous improvement. Reinforce and enforce the company's policies and procedures across all departmental operations to ensure full compliance. Support the Operations Manager in leading the service department's growth, including managing administrative functions and supporting the Technician Training Program. Assist the Assistant Operations Manager - Field in executing the established Inventory Management protocol. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The ability to provide direct daily supervision, evaluate performance, assign duties to staff, manage manpower effectively, oversee subcontractors, and enforce company policies and procedures. The knowledge and skill to plan, implement, and execute daily schedules and project plans, ensuring all customer commitments are met timely and within budget, while promptly adjusting to changing priorities and managing warehouse operations including inventory and equipment staging. The capability to manage administrative functions, support departmental growth initiatives, assist in developing a technician training program, and work collaboratively with the Operations Manager in a hybrid, office-focused environment. Skilled in delivering responsive, high-quality customer service. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Advanced proficiency (knowledge) with Microsoft Office 365.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In office and some warehouse environment. Extended periods in varying environmental conditions, including weather and noise. Frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and operation of hand and power tools. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
PLANNED BUSINESS TRAVEL
This job requires no planned business travel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor's degree, preferred. Combining experience in manufacturing, distribution, and service industries practices of 1 or more years with education is desirable. Prior experience in the dock and door industry is preferred.
COMPENSATION
This compensation information is a good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage range that DuraServ reasonably expects to pay upon hire, and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Similar positions located outside of a covered jurisdiction may not necessarily receive the same compensation. The anticipated compensation range for this role is $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 plus bonus potential and reflects the range DuraServ expects to pay at the time of hire, based on factors including geographic market, skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
