What You'll Do:
Manager Food Service Level I - IV is determined by number of participants in Food Service program at assigned site and Enterprise Management/Department of Food and Nutrition Services. Develops and implements day-to-day strategies to improve food services program. Supports and assists area supervisor with staffing coordination to address daily staffing utilization, shortages and imbalances; and implementation of new programs that improve the efficiency and cost of day to day operations. Leads training at site to improve District consistency in areas of food production, HACCP, customer service, food presentation, and marketing. .Orders, checks in and stores food and supplies properly. Develops effective staff site teams, and customer service oriented relationships with staff at assigned schools. Oversees and manages food services staff, and preparation and serving of school meals at assigned school site. Monitors and participates in food preparation, cooking, and serving meals to students and adults. Monitors and evaluates preparation and serving of meals, and conformance to planned menus, making emergency substitutions that comply with meal pattern requirements. Observes, supervises, and delegates to Food Service staff, preparing work schedules; assigning and managing; training and enforcing proper procedures and work standards; evaluating work performance; and recommending disciplinary action. Creates and updates records and reports in compliance with financial procedures, local, state and federal school nutrition program and sanitation regulations. Monitors and inspects for compliance to dress code, equipment use and operation, sanitation and safety standards, and security measures, making corrections when deficiencies are identified. Monitors and cleans kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Trains, supervises and evaluates food service staff. Supervises or operates cash register, accepting money and making change for food and beverages served. Perform other duties, as requested.
What You'll Need:
High School/GED preferred. Demonstrated experience leading and managing staff in food services operations. Experience in financial management involving on-site money handling. Previous institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred, but not required. Completion of orientation class within first month of employment required. Completion of food preparation classes provided by the Department of Food and Nutrition Services encouraged.
