This is a honey packing position working with packing machines. Join our dynamic food manufacturing team! We are seeking a proactive Food Production Lead to oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient manufacturing while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will own the process from raw ingredient mixing to the final shipping box, fostering a safe, clean, and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities Batch Mixing & Formulation:
Weigh, measure, and mix dry and liquid ingredients according to proprietary formulas, ensuring total batch consistency.
VFFS Machine Ownership:
Set up, calibrate, and operate vertical form fill seal machinery. Perform mechanical adjustments to maintain strict weight tolerances and seal integrity.
Rigorous Quality Control:
- Execute scheduled interval checks on product weight and packaging aesthetics.
Conduct standardized pressure and "stress tests" on finished seals to ensure zero-leak durability. Perform deep-clean resets at designated production milestones to maintain machine efficiency.
Inventory & Strategy:
Partner with the Shipping Manager and Owner to forecast production needs, schedule runs, and verify final counts for outgoing shipments.
Compliance:
Enforce FDA, HACCP, and CGMP standards. Maintain meticulous documentation of production metrics and safety logs.
Leadership:
Train and motivate team members on equipment operation and the company's "Golden Standard" for finished products.
Required Skills & Qualifications Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional focus on precision and the ability to catch minor defects in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Aptitude:
Experience with VFFS machinery, liquid pumps, or similar food processing equipment.
Mathematical Accuracy:
Strong skills in measuring ingredients by weight/volume and calculating production yields.
Food Safety Knowledge:
Familiarity with FDA regulations and sanitation procedures in a high-viscosity (liquid) food environment.
Proactive Problem Solver:
Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and optimize flow.
