60K Seeking a Sous Chef Kitchen Manager with a background in institutional dining such as College, University, Hospital, Senior Living, or similar with operational experience in retail and catering. Job Summary We are on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. In this role, you'll be at the heart of creating memorable dining experiences, managing food production, and ensuring top-notch food safety standards. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and ready to take charge of a dynamic kitchen environment, bringing both leadership and culinary expertise to the table. Duties Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet high standards of quality and presentation. Manage inventory control and food ordering processes to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing waste. Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations across all kitchen operations. Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing training in culinary techniques, food handling, and service standards. Coordinate with catering and banquet teams to execute large-scale events smoothly and efficiently. Plan menus in collaboration with executive chefs or management, considering dietary restrictions and customer preferences. Manage shift schedules, monitor performance, and foster a positive team environment focused on excellence. Requirements Proven experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant kitchens with a strong background in food production and culinary techniques. Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing kitchen teams. Familiarity with banquet service, catering operations, and dietary department standards. Knowledge of inventory management, food safety regulations, and kitchen equipment maintenance. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to effectively lead staff and collaborate with other departments. Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management is highly desirable.
