Besides hands-on line cooking with the other crew, daily responsibilities include: Solving any kitchen-wide issues that arise to create a smooth service for staff and customers. Ensuring ticket time and plate quality meet company standards. Overseeing the overall smooth functioning of the kitchen. Completing nightly prep lists. Upholding closing and cleaning procedures. Keeping kitchen staff busy and productive in-between tickets. Teaching new team members and ensuring systems are adhered to. Overseeing company policies are upheld. Lead by example. All management is expected to be able to do very well any job they instruct others to do - while maintaining a spirit of teamwork and comradery amongst all staff for an enjoyable service. Working alongside talented cooks that have been with the company for a while; your leadership shall inspire the team to increase standards and continue delivering outstanding customer experiences. Requirements:
Must have at least 5yrs cooking experience in high-volume, full-service restaurants. At least 2yrs experience in a leadership kitchen position. Experience in food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices. Strong supervisory skills with a track record of staff training & development and performance management. High attention to detail and quality standards. Ability to communicate clearly and instruct or correct staff constructively. Must have reliable transportation that is not public transit or a ride share service. Must be able to physically lift up to 50lbs, squat, bend, twist, lift overhead, etc. Ability to work 10-12hr shifts, and approx 50hr work week. Expected to work nights, weekends and opened holidays.
