Job Description

Kitchen Manager Position Summary The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all back-of-house kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency. This position leads kitchen staff, maintains food safety standards, manages inventory and food cost, and supports menu development across all food concepts. The Kitchen Manager must have strong hands-on cooking ability with proven experience in pizza production, line cooking, and menu development , while maintaining the operational standards expected at The View. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to operate in a high-volume, multi-concept food environment. Key Responsibilities Kitchen Operations Oversee daily kitchen operations across all food concepts. Ensure food quality, portion control, and plating consistency. Maintain efficient kitchen workflow during high-volume service. Monitor ticket times and kitchen communication to ensure timely food delivery. Ensure all kitchen stations are fully stocked, organized, and ready for service. Pizza Program Manage pizza dough production, fermentation, and quality control. Maintain consistency in pizza builds, cook times, and presentation. Train staff on proper pizza stretching, topping portions, and oven management. Develop new pizza recipes, seasonal items, and specials. Maintain quality standards for pizzas, flatbreads, and related menu items. Line Leadership Lead and work alongside line cooks during service. Train new kitchen employees on station setup, execution, and standards. Maintain strong communication between kitchen and front of house. Ensure proper prep levels are maintained for service periods. Hold staff accountable for kitchen cleanliness and organization. Menu Development Assist in creating and updating menu items across concepts. Develop seasonal menu items and specials. Evaluate food costs and portion sizes to maintain profitability. Collaborate with management on menu engineering and pricing. Food Safety & Sanitation Ensure strict adherence to health department regulations. Maintain ServSafe standards and safe food handling practices. Enforce proper labeling, dating, and food storage procedures. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times. Inventory & Cost Control Manage food ordering and vendor relationships. Monitor inventory levels and reduce waste. Track food costs and implement cost-saving strategies. Conduct regular inventory counts. Team Leadership Train, coach, and develop kitchen staff. Schedule kitchen employees based on business needs. Foster a positive, accountable, and professional kitchen culture. Hold staff accountable to performance and cleanliness standards. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years kitchen leadership experience Experience with pizza dough production and pizza ovens Strong background in line cooking and high-volume service Experience with menu development and recipe standardization Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift 50+ pounds Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Success in This Role Looks Like Consistent food quality across all menu items Efficient kitchen operations with strong ticket times Well-trained kitchen staff who follow standards Clean and organized kitchen environments Creative menu contributions that drive guest satisfaction
