This position serves as a key member of the management team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, staff development, and compliance with all company policies and safety standards. The AGM works closely with the General Manager to oversee all departments and assumes leadership responsibilities in the General Manager's absence. Due to the nature of the business, the AGM must be flexible to work varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and peak tourism seasons. Current operating hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, transitioning to 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during seasonal time changes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operations Management Assist in overseeing daily operations of the airboat tour facility, gift shop, tiki bar, restaurant/grill, and grounds. Ensure all departments are fully staffed, operational, and prepared for daily business. Monitor guest flow and coordinate activities between departments to maximize customer satisfaction. Conduct opening, mid-shift, and closing operational inspections. Maintain facility cleanliness, appearance, and safety standards throughout the property. Address operational challenges and implement solutions promptly and effectively. Guest Experience Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable guest experiences. Resolve guest complaints, concerns, and service recovery situations professionally. Monitor online reviews and guest feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure team members consistently provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service. Staff Leadership & Development Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training employees. Supervise department managers, team leads, and hourly staff. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary action when necessary. Develop employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels while controlling labor costs. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and guest satisfaction. Airboat Tour Operations Coordinate with captains and tour staff to ensure safe and efficient tour operations. Monitor tour schedules, reservations, and guest capacity. Ensure compliance with all boating, wildlife, environmental, and safety regulations. Assist in managing tour-related incidents and emergency response procedures. Restaurant & Tiki Bar Management Oversee food and beverage operations to ensure quality, consistency, and profitability. Monitor food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service compliance. Assist with menu implementation, inventory control, and vendor relationships. Manage service standards and guest satisfaction within dining and bar operations. Retail & Gift Shop Operations Oversee merchandising, inventory control, product displays, and retail sales performance. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering to maintain proper stock. Assist in developing promotional displays and seasonal merchandise offerings. Ensure accurate cash handling and point-of-sale procedures. Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Assist in achieving revenue, profit, and budget goals across all business units. Monitor labor costs, operating expenses, and inventory levels. Review daily sales reports and operational metrics. Assist with payroll verification, cash reconciliation, deposits, and financial reporting. Support implementation of sales initiatives and promotional programs. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all company policies, health regulations, alcohol service requirements, and workplace safety standards. Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments. Maintain emergency procedures and incident documentation. Ensure proper maintenance and reporting of equipment and facility issues. Event & Special Program Support Assist in planning and executing special events, private parties, corporate outings, and promotional activities. Coordinate staffing and logistics for events and peak business periods. Support marketing and community outreach initiatives as directed. Additional Responsibilities Act as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts. Perform opening and closing management procedures. Provide leadership and decision-making support during high-volume operations. Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of management experience in hospitality, tourism, attractions, food & beverage, retail, or related industries. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing multiple departments and diverse teams. Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, inventory control, and customer service management. Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and peak tourism periods. Food safety and alcohol service certifications preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to respond quickly to operational and guest service needs throughout the property.
