Palm Harbor, Florida Position Title General Manager Position Summary Strachan's Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on General Manager to lead the daily operations of our Palm Harbor location. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including guest satisfaction, employee leadership and development, financial performance, inventory management, product quality, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who leads by example, builds a positive team culture, drives sales growth, maintains high operational standards, and ensures every guest receives an exceptional Strachan's experience. Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members. Create and maintain a positive, professional, and accountable work environment. Coach employees through ongoing performance feedback and development. Conduct employee evaluations and performance reviews. Address employee concerns and administer corrective action when necessary. Lead by example through professionalism, work ethic, and customer service excellence. Ensure all team members understand and follow company policies and procedures. Operations Management Oversee all daily store operations. Ensure consistent execution of company standards for service, cleanliness, and product quality. Maintain proper staffing levels and labor controls. Develop and manage employee schedules. Monitor workflow and productivity during peak and non-peak periods. Ensure opening, closing, and shift procedures are completed accurately. Resolve guest concerns and service issues promptly and professionally. Financial Management Manage store profitability through effective labor, inventory, and expense control. Monitor daily sales performance and identify opportunities for growth. Review and analyze financial reports and key performance indicators. Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and reconciliation procedures. Assist in developing and implementing sales-building initiatives and community outreach programs. Inventory & Product Management Maintain proper inventory levels for all products, supplies, and packaging materials. Conduct regular inventory counts and audits. Minimize waste and product loss. Ensure proper receiving, storage, rotation, and handling of all products. Maintain product presentation and quality standards. Guest Experience Foster a culture centered around exceptional hospitality. Build relationships with guests and encourage repeat business. Ensure all customer concerns are addressed professionally and resolved promptly. Maintain a welcoming, clean, and family-friendly atmosphere. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety standards, and health department regulations. Maintain a safe environment for employees and guests. Ensure all required permits, certifications, and operational records remain current and accurate. Conduct routine facility inspections and address maintenance issues promptly. Community & Brand Representation Represent Strachan's Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts professionally within the Palm Harbor community. Support local marketing initiatives, promotions, and events. Build relationships with local schools, businesses, organizations, and community groups to increase brand awareness and sales. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of management experience in food service, hospitality, retail, or a related field. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Experience managing labor, inventory, and financial performance. Ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions. Proficient with basic computer systems, scheduling software, and point-of-sale systems. ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
