The Salty Tarpon is an upper casual dining restaurant located in the heart of Punta Gorda. Renowned for its culinary excellence and impeccable service, The Salty Tarpon offers a fun festive atmosphere dining experience that reflects the epitome of culinary artistry.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to join our team at The Salty Tarpon. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven track record in the hospitality industry, demonstrating expertise in areas such as staff training, revenue growth, event management, third-party platform management, floor service, social media, scheduling, and comprehensive reporting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Training:
Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for both front-of-house and back-of-house staff. Ensure staff is well-versed in The Salty Tarpons standards of service, product knowledge, and guest interactions.
Higher Revenue:
Strategize and execute initiatives to increase overall revenue and profitability. Analyze sales trends, customer feedback, and market data to identify opportunities for growth.
Events:
Plan and execute special events, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for guests. Collaborate with the culinary team to create tailored menus for events.
Third-Party Platforms:
Oversee and optimize the restaurant's presence on third-party platforms, maximizing visibility and revenue. Manage partnerships with delivery services, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Floor Service Program:
Implement and refine front-of-house service standards to enhance the overall guest experience. Develop and enforce protocols for effective communication and collaboration between the front and back of the house. Social media and
Strategy:
Utilize social media platforms to promote The Salty Tarpon and engage with the community. Participate in strategy meetings to enhance the restaurant's online presence and marketing efforts.
Staff Scheduling:
Create and manage staff schedules, balancing operational needs with employee availability. Optimize staffing levels to ensure efficient service and cost control.
Reporting Duties:
Generate comprehensive reports on staff hours, breaks, inventory levels, cash reports, and profit and loss statements. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Manager in an casual dining or upscale dining restaurant. Strong leadership and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions. Familiarity with industry trends, social media, and digital marketing. Ability to analyze financial data and make data-driven decisions. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, including food service, kitchen management, and food production.

  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in bartending, food service, or restaurant management is required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
