Job Description

Position Title:
General Manager -
Dining Facilities Location:
Fort Benning, Georgia Position Overview The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and compliance of assigned dining facilities at Fort Benning. This role provides strategic and operational oversight to ensure high-quality food service delivery, contract compliance, cost control, and workforce effectiveness in support of mission readiness. The General Manager works closely with installation leadership, project management, quality control, and safety teams. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Provide full oversight of multiple dining facilities, ensuring consistent, efficient, and mission-aligned operations. Ensure uninterrupted meal service while maintaining quality, accuracy, and timeliness standards. Lead DFAC Managers and support leadership teams to achieve operational objectives. Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to all contractual requirements, Army regulations, food safety standards, HACCP protocols, and organizational policies. Partner with Quality Control and Safety teams to address findings, implement corrective actions, and maintain inspection readiness. Oversee documentation, reporting, and audit preparation. Financial & Resource Management Manage budgets, labor costs, food costs, and inventory controls across assigned facilities. Review financial reports, analyze trends, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality. Oversee procurement activities and vendor performance. Personnel Management & Development Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for DFAC leadership teams. Promote accountability, professional development, and succession planning. Ensure staffing levels support operational demand and mission requirements. Customer & Stakeholder Relations Serve as a primary point of contact for installation leadership and client representatives. Address customer concerns promptly and professionally. Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external partners. Safety & Risk Management Enforce workplace safety standards and support a culture of risk awareness and prevention. Ensure corrective actions are implemented following incidents or inspections. Qualifications Experience Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in institutional dining, food service operations, or military dining facilities. Experience managing multi-site or large-scale operations preferred. Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of DFAC operations, government contracts, and regulatory compliance. Proven ability to manage budgets, labor, and operational performance. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Certifications ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification required. Additional food safety or management certifications preferred. Additional Information This position requires flexibility to support early mornings, weekends, and operational surges. The General Manager role is critical to maintaining mission readiness and service excellence across Fort Benning dining facilities. #
