Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The Sous Chef plays a critical role in supporting the head chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, and ensuring quality and consistency in every dish. This position requires strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary skills, and a dedication to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist the head chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food orders Assist with special events, catering, and off-site functions as required Stay current with industry trends and culinary techniques, continually seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement
Requirements:
Proven experience as a sous chef or senior line cook in a high-volume restaurant environment Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred Strong leadership and team-building skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
