Burger King 1775 N Farnsworth Ave, Aurora Illinois Job Overview We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and hands-on Assistant Manager to help lead our Burger King restaurant team. The Assistant Manager plays an important role in daily operations by supporting the General Manager, supervising crew members, maintaining service standards, controlling labor and food costs, and helping ensure the restaurant runs smoothly. This position is ideal for someone with restaurant, fast-food, drive-thru, or retail management experience who is ready to take on more responsibility. The right candidate must be dependable, organized, customer-focused, and able to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities The Assistant Manager may be responsible for: Assisting with daily restaurant operations Supervising crew members during assigned shifts Leading the team to provide fast, friendly, and accurate service Ensuring food is prepared according to Burger King quality standards Monitoring drive-thru speed, order accuracy, and guest satisfaction Handling customer concerns professionally and resolving issues quickly Operating the POS/register system and assisting with cash handling Counting drawers, preparing deposits, and following cash control procedures Helping control labor costs by managing breaks, positioning, and staffing needs Monitoring food costs, waste, inventory, and product usage Assisting with ordering, receiving, and stocking inventory Keeping the restaurant clean, organized, and ready for inspections Enforcing food safety, sanitation, and health department standards Training new employees and coaching current team members Helping interview, hire, and develop employees Supporting opening, closing, and shift-change procedures Communicating issues, results, and opportunities to the General Manager Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: Previous restaurant, fast-food, quick-service, drive-thru, or retail leadership experience Experience supervising employees in a fast-paced environment Strong customer service skills Ability to lead, train, and motivate team members Basic understanding of labor control, food cost, inventory, and cash handling Experience with POS systems and sales reporting Good communication and problem-solving skills Ability to stay calm and organized during busy periods Reliable attendance and punctuality Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Physical Requirements Must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods of time Work in a fast-paced kitchen and front counter environment Lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weight as needed Bend, reach, and move quickly during rush periods Work around heat, cold, cleaning products, and kitchen equipment What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and understands that restaurant management requires both people skills and operational discipline.
