We are seeking a dynamic and service-focused Operations Manager to support the day-to-day leadership of our 145-room select-service hotel in the heart of downtown Champaign. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an energetic hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about guest satisfaction, team development, and hotel operations. The Operations Manager will work closely with hotel leadership to oversee front office operations, guest services, housekeeping coordination, and overall hotel performance, with primary operational coverage focused on mid-shift and evening operations. Responsibilities Support daily hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest service and efficient departmental performance. Primarily oversee mid-shift and evening hotel operations, ensuring smooth transitions between departments and maintaining strong guest service standards during peak arrival periods. Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, handling guest concerns, service recovery, and operational decision-making. Lead and support front desk and operations team members through coaching, training, accountability, and recognition. Assist with scheduling, payroll review, staffing coordination, and shift coverage as needed. Partner with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure cleanliness standards, room readiness, and overall property appearance meet Hyatt brand expectations. Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, and service scores to identify improvement opportunities and enhance the guest experience. Assist with onboarding, training, and performance management to foster a positive and engaged team culture. Ensure compliance with Hyatt standards, safety procedures, cash handling policies, and operational procedures. Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel and provide hands-on operational support during busy periods. Qualifications Previous hotel leadership or supervisory experience preferred, ideally within a select-service or branded hotel environment. Strong guest service and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain professional under pressure. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. Comfortable working primarily evening or mid-shift schedules, including weekends and holidays as business demands require. Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS), scheduling, and operational reporting preferred. Passion for hospitality, team development, and operational excellence. Hyatt experience is a plus, but not required.
