Big Woods Restaurant in Bloomington is currently seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team. This pivotal role comes with a range of responsibilities and offers an attractive benefits package.
Kitchen Manager Responsibilities:
Kitchen Leadership:
Efficiently manage and lead the kitchen team. This includes monitoring, training, and fostering employee development. Lead each shift by assigning duties, tasks, and providing guidance to all team members.
Service Flow Optimization:
Create weekly kitchen asset schedules that align with projected demands, ensuring a smooth service flow at all kitchen stations.
Inventory and Procurement:
Assist with inventory control, including ordering, rotation, monitoring, and accepting orders for all food and kitchen products, with a focus on minimizing food waste.
Hygiene and Organization:
Maintain and enforce high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen. Continuously monitor food quality and temperatures to adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
Culinary Proficiency:
Be proficient in all aspects of the kitchen and be ready to assist when necessary. Ensure all food items are prepared in accordance with Big Woods' standards of quality, consistency, and timeliness.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities:
Be adaptable and ready to tackle additional tasks and duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant setting, with a minimum of 1 year. Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Comfortable working in a high-temperature kitchen environment for extended periods. Current Serv-Safe Certification is required.
