Job Description

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our family-owned comfort food restaurant. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who values hospitality, teamwork, consistency, and community. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food quality standards, controlling costs, and helping create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations during all shifts Lead, train, schedule, and motivate front- and back-of-house staff Ensure excellent guest service and resolve customer concerns professionally Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, and presentation Monitor inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships Control labor and food costs while meeting sales goals Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations Assist with hiring, onboarding, and employee development Manage cash handling, deposits, and basic financial reporting Coordinate with ownership on promotions, menus, and operational improvements Step into service roles when needed during busy periods Foster a positive, family-oriented work environment Qualifications 3+ years of restaurant management experience preferred Experience in casual dining or comfort food concepts is a plus Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of scheduling, inventory, and cost control Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Food safety certification preferred Passion for hospitality and community-focused service Preferred Traits Reliable and self-motivated Friendly and approachable with staff and guests Problem-solver with strong organizational skills Comfortable working alongside staff in a hands-on role Appreciates small business culture and family-style hospitality Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Bonus opportunities Employee meals and dining discounts Paid time off Growth opportunities within the business
