Open Availability Required (Days, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays) About Us Valle Vista Golf & Conference Center is one of Central Indiana's premier event venues, hosting weddings, receptions, banquets, corporate meetings, golf outings, and special events throughout the year. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences and executing events at the highest level of professionalism. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager / Manager on Duty (MOD) to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys leading teams, and is passionate about hospitality and event execution. Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing event execution, leading service teams, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction. This is a working management position that requires active participation in event setup, breakdown, and operational support alongside the team. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hospitality or restaurant management experience, excellent organizational abilities, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while meeting strict event timelines. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the conference center, banquet facilities, and event spaces Serve as Manager on Duty during weddings, receptions, banquets, corporate events, and special functions Lead, motivate, and support a team of 50+ employees Create and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage for all events and operations Coordinate event setup and breakdown to ensure all rooms are prepared accurately and on time Maintain high standards of guest service and professionalism Manage staff performance and provide coaching, training, and accountability Handle guest concerns and resolve issues quickly and professionally Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards Work closely with sales, event coordinators, culinary staff, and leadership teams to ensure seamless event execution Monitor labor costs and operational efficiency Assist with inventory, supplies, and operational logistics as needed
QualificationsRequired:
Previous management or supervisory experience in hospitality, restaurant, banquet, event, or other fast-paced service environments Experience managing large teams (50+ employees preferred) Experience creating and managing employee schedules Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Reliable transportation and strong attendance record Open availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak event seasons
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to assist with moving tables, chairs, and banquet equipment during event setup and breakdown Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed
Preferred:
