This executive leadership role is responsible for driving Forbes Travel Guide standards, exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, financial performance, team development, and luxury brand culture throughout the property. The General Manager serves as the primary operational leader of the hotel and is expected to cultivate a culture rooted in elevated hospitality, attention to detail, personalized service, and uncompromising guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate possesses strong luxury hotel leadership experience, a proven ability to mentor high-performing teams, and extensive knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide and LQA service standards. Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Direct all day-to-day hotel operations including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, Sales, Catering, and Events. Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the hotel, ensuring luxury service standards are consistently upheld. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, collaboration, and guest-focused hospitality. Lead department heads through coaching, mentorship, performance management, and operational support. Ensure seamless communication and coordination between all operational departments. Drive operational efficiencies while maintaining elevated luxury guest experiences. Financial & Business Management Oversee hotel budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and overall financial performance. Analyze revenue, profitability, labor costs, ADR, RevPAR, and departmental expenses to maximize operational success. Partner with Sales and Revenue Management teams to drive occupancy, market positioning, and revenue growth. Maintain strong cost controls without compromising guest experience or luxury service expectations. Develop strategic operational initiatives to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and profitability. Guest Experience Ensure all guests receive exceptional and personalized luxury hospitality experiences. Respond to escalated guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and effective resolution. Build relationships with VIP guests, ownership representatives, and community partners. Promote a service culture emphasizing anticipatory hospitality and attention to detail. Team Development & Culture Recruit, train, and retain top hospitality talent aligned with luxury service expectations. Create a positive and engaging work environment focused on growth, accountability, and recognition. Lead ongoing training initiatives related to Forbes standards, luxury etiquette, guest engagement, and service excellence. Ensure compliance with all company policies, employment laws, and safety standards. Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years of General Manager or senior executive hotel leadership experience within luxury or upper upscale hospitality environments. Prior experience with Forbes Travel Guide standards, AAA Four Diamond/Five Diamond standards, or Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) preferred. Strong operational background in full-service luxury hotels with Food & Beverage operations. Proven leadership experience managing multi-department hotel operations. Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and revenue optimization. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to lead in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment while maintaining exceptional service standards. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as operationally necessary. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience leading Forbes-rated or luxury independent hotel properties. Experience facilitating Forbes or luxury hospitality training programs. Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Strong understanding of luxury guest expectations, VIP protocols, and elevated service culture. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the hotel property. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work flexible schedules based on business demands.
