The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. The Deli Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food safety and quality, and maintaining inventory control while fostering a positive work environment. Responsibilities Supervise and train deli staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service best practices. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the deli area. Oversee food production and presentation to ensure quality and consistency. Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to enhance customer satisfaction. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate catering services and special events. Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new team members. Implement training and development programs to enhance staff skills and performance. Requirements High energy and customer service-oriented managers Proven experience in restaurant management or food service management roles. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management. Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and staff training. Familiarity with inventory control processes and budgeting practices. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Previous experience in supervising roles within the hospitality or food industry is highly desirable. Ability to develop and motivate a team of at least 40 employees. Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. When needed, must be able to perform all duties of all employees in the deli. Operates a computer and associated software, to include but not limited to, Positouch, MS Office, Internet. Monitoring includes but is not limited to: Employee job performance, Food and Labor costs, budgets and sales, compliance with operational rules and regulations, food preparation, storage, inventory, and presentation, vendor invoices and the food ordering system.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate with employees and guests. Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area. Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store. Ability to climb ladders. Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds. Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.
