Wusong Road is an award winning, high volume Chinese American tiki restaurant and bar located in Cambridge, MA. Our 135 seat restaurant is built around immersive hospitality, strong service standards, cocktails, rum, and a guest experience that feels transportive from the moment guests walk in. We are looking for a hospitality driven Service Manager who loves being on the floor, enjoys developing staff, and understands that great service does not happen by accident. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable leading service, teaching hospitality, supporting the bar and dining room, and holding a team accountable to clear standards. The Service Manager will lead lunch and or dinner shifts and should expect a mix of opening and closing responsibilities. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to be present with guests, visible to the team, and actively involved in improving service every day. The Right Candidate Will Be Warm, professional, and deeply hospitality driven Comfortable leading busy lunch and dinner services Confident coaching staff and correcting service issues in the moment Comfortable enforcing hospitality guidelines and service standards Skilled at guest recovery and reading the room Comfortable with cocktails and bar service Interested in rum, tiki, and cocktail driven restaurants Organized, calm, and able to communicate clearly with FOH, bar, kitchen, and ownership Excited to help build a stronger service culture Responsibilities Include Leading daily service from the floor Supporting a mix of opening and closing shifts Maintaining strong manager presence during service Checking in with guests and ensuring meaningful table touches Coaching servers, hosts, bussers, runners, bartenders, and barbacks Teaching hospitality standards through pre shift and in service feedback Correcting service issues quickly and professionally Supporting reservation pacing, guest flow, and floor organization Communicating clearly between FOH, bar, kitchen, and ownership Helping maintain a positive team culture while still holding staff accountable Conduct private service audits during lunch and dinner shifts Observe guest interactions, table touches, pacing, menu knowledge, and overall hospitality standards Provide professional criticism and coaching to staff in a private, respectful setting Identify repeated service issues and work with management to correct them Follow up with staff after coaching to make sure standards are improving Success in This Role Success will be measured by consistent service execution, guest satisfaction, and team development. This includes active floor presence, regular guest check ins, strong table touches, fast guest recovery, clear staff coaching, reduced repeated service mistakes, and consistent enforcement of hospitality standards. This person should help create a dining room where guests feel seen, welcomed, and cared for, and where the team understands what great hospitality looks like every shift.
