Job Description

•Great Barrington Location Only• Summary The Café Manager is responsible for leading our authentic, vibrant café that specializes in fresh juices, smoothies, lattes, and coffees. Located within a community-centric grocery store, our café also serves as a social hub, hosting events that engage and inspire our customers. The ideal candidate will bring both strong management experience and a passion for exceptional service, with the ability to lead and guide a team, drive growth, and foster a welcoming atmosphere. Responsibilities Manage daily café operations to ensure efficiency and quality service. Supervise staff, providing training and development to enhance team performance. Maintain inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing waste. Implement food safety standards to comply with health regulations. Manage the opening and closing procedures, ensuring all tasks are completed properly. Foster a welcoming atmosphere that promotes excellent customer service. Work closely with the grocery store team to create a seamless customer experience between the café and the store, leveraging cross-promotion and shared resources. Qualifications At least 2 years of experience in restaurant supervision or management; full-service or Café experience is desired Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) Strong written and verbal communication skills - clear and professional demeanor Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize with efficiency A friendly and outgoing personality - must enjoy interacting with and servicing others Sincerity, honesty, and candidness with team members and guests alike Initiative, drive, and a self-starting work ethic Ability to lead, motivate, and build efficient work teams A love for retail and a desire to create the ultimate customer experience Professional, polished appearance with the ability to interact with all types of team members. Proven ability to lead a staff and positively influence employee behavior
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and move for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday. Ability to lift and hold items weighing up to 35 pounds. Must be able to bend, twist, squat, reach, and perform other repetitive motions. Ability to work in varying temperature environments, including walk-in coolers and freezers. Requires frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to hear and respond to phone calls and overhead paging systems. •This position requires working on weekends•Guido's is a family-owned grocery and specialty market with two locations in the Berkshires.
