FACILITIES DESCRIPTION
Black Rock Country Club, an exclusive club on Boston's South Shore, is recognized as one of the region's premier private golf clubs. Nestled within a gated residential community, Black Rock boasts extraordinary golf, a vibrant membership including tennis, swimming, dining and youth programs, and a full-service events facility and staff that hosts weddings, and special events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Restaurant Manager will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the main clubhouse restaurant, seasonal poolside café, and function team, all while implementing and maintaining superb dining and beverage experiences for members and the guests. This position requires strong food, wine and beer knowledge, must be willing to work side by side with the team of servers, bartenders and attendants, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. This full-time, year-round management position reports to the Food and Beverage Director and works closely with the Executive Chef and Events Director. The expectation is this person has a strong presence on the floor and is eager to make connections with members and their guests, and must be willing to work evenings, weekends and select holidays as business demands. The Restaurant Manager is expected to supervise staff with a hands-on, positive approach. This will be through comprehensive and ongoing training, on the floor evaluation of service standards being met, and proper scheduling as the activity level and events business warrants. Additional responsibilities include ordering, inventory, managing the reservation and point of sale system, and hiring.
Additional qualifications include:
  • Minimum three years' experience of Food and Beverage experience in a restaurant, club, or hotel (management or leadership experience desired)
  • Experience in functions and banquet dining service a plus
  • Food safety and alcohol awareness certification
  • Proven ability in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Demonstratable proficiency in Microsoft office (outlook, excel, word) and POS systems, experience with Jonas a plus
  • Polished, professional appearance and presentation
