Bakery Manager (Enthusiastic, Creative, and Responsible)
Job Overview:
We're looking for a friendly, passionate, hardworking professional to join our bakery's growing management team! The Bakery Manager supports the Owner/Team in general aspects of daily operations within the bakery with a strong focus on team building and customer service. They report to the Owner, and oversee other team members. This hands-on role is perfect for the inspired baker/pastry chef with a keen eye for detail, and who takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities Include:
Assist Owner in ensuring daily bakery production needs are met. Learn, contribute to, and oversee various bakery processes , including (but not limited to): daily/weekly production of goods, decorating cakes & other desserts for custom orders and display case, storefront opening/closing procedures, maintaining a safe, clean, & efficient working environment for yourself and the team. Experiment and create new bakery desserts & seasonal menu items. Strengthen company culture & assist bakery team in maximizing efficiency throughout the workday. Maintain standards and quality of products with team members. Inventory management and ordering ingredients, cleaning products, dry goods, etc. Check in and sign for deliveries. Customer service including storefront, emails, & phone calls with clients to discuss custom and corporate level orders. Teaching and mentoring new bakery associates, nurturing talent & helping retain dedicated employees. Ability to oversee and take responsibility over bakery operations if Owner/Manager is off premises.
Job Requirements:
5+ Years of experience in a kitchen, bakery, or café work environment. Previous experience in managerial or leadership role. Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, kitchen equipment, and attention to detail. Ability to read and execute recipes. Strong understanding and knowledge of sanitation practices and food preparation standards. Strong leadership skills and ability to instruct/delegate clearly to other staff members. Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for teamwork. Problem-solving abilities and strong critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
ServSafe Food Manager and/or Food Handler Certification ServSafe Allergens Certification Certificate or degree in Culinary Arts, Baking, or relevant field. Experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role. Strong sense of culinary creativity. A successful candidate for this role must care deeply about the overall health and wellbeing of team members, customers, and the community. They care about the success of the company, and have a sharp eye for detail while taking the utmost pride in their work and example they set for others. Must be able to stand/walk for long periods (8+ hours), and be able to reach, bend, balance, and transport objects repeatedly during a shift. Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs.
