Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dynamic General Manager - Restaurant to lead our up and coming American Sports Bar. This is an interesting opportunity to help the founders develop the new business concept and bring it to fruition! In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, efficient management of staff, and adherence to quality standards. Your leadership will drive the team towards operational excellence, foster a welcoming environment, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is passionate about food service, possesses strong management skills, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the success of a bustling Sports Bar while delivering memorable experiences for our guests. Responsibilities Lead daily operations, including food preparation, service delivery, and staff supervision to ensure smooth and efficient workflows. Manage inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and ensure food safety standards are met. Oversee the Toast POS systems for accurate order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation. Supervise kitchen management activities including food production, culinary standards, and food handling procedures. Train and develop staff through effective onboarding, ongoing training sessions, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team environment. Implement shift management strategies to optimize staffing levels during peak hours while maintaining excellent customer service. Ensure compliance with health regulations, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards across all restaurant areas. Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to uphold high satisfaction levels and positive reviews. Assist in budgeting activities by monitoring expenses related to food costs, labor, and operational supplies. Support catering events or banquet services as needed, ensuring seamless execution from setup to cleanup. Skills Extensive experience in food service management within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments. Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales processing and reporting. Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in hospitality or restaurant management roles. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. Skilled in inventory control, food safety practices, and kitchen management techniques. Ability to train staff effectively on food preparation, food handling, and service standards. Competence in managing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing operational improvements. Experience with shift management, staff interviewing, training & development initiatives. Familiarity with catering operations or banquet services is a plus. Knowledge of the food industry trends including culinary techniques like cooking or food production is desirable.
